Requesting Comments about radiation standards at Nuclear Regulatory Commission

Thanks to Bob Hargraves for the links
“Friends,

Three petitions for rulemaking to end ALARA and reliance on LNT have been submitted to the NRC by qualified radiation professionals Carol Marcus, Mark Miller, and Mohan Doss with additional signatories from Scientists for Accurate Radiation Information. Marcus has successfully petitioned NRC for a less sweeping rule change using this petition process in the past.

NRC has now docketed these petitions under “Linear No-Threshold Model and Standards for Protection Against Radiation” at http://www.regulations.gov/#!docketDetail;D=NRC-2015-0057

You may submit comments by email to Rulemaking.Comments@nrc.gov specifying Docket ID NRC-2015-0057.

I recommend you read their well-written, well-referenced petitions here:

  1. Hi Dr Gene…good job last night…you led the way to a positive comment period with the NRC. The pros outnumbered the cons…although the cons are still passionate after all these years.
I have a question: Ellie tells me the board representing our new group decided not to present a talk to the Lifelong Learners of the Central Coast, a group of which I am a member. I spoke with one of our directors this morning and learned they are eagerly awaiting an application to the curriculum committee for a talk about nuclear power and our support group. Can we talk? My phone # is 543-4074.
Yours for safe nuclear power! Sammie Bankston
